New Oh Mensch Album!

My guitar duo Oh Mensch with guitarist Matthias Koole just released it's first album!

The album contains five microtonal pieces for two guitars by Christopher Trapani, Turgut Erçetin, Arthur Kampela, Brian Ferneyhough and Larry Polansky. It is released on the Brazilian label Seminal Records and can be bought here.
The CD is a result of our residency at Akademie Schloss Solitude and includes wonderful contributions by co-Schloss Solitude Fellows Maja Markovic (artwork) and Dan Boehl (poem). Also huge thanks to Paulo Dantas (mixing and mastering) and Jan De Wulf (layout).

#HCMF2017

I had a great experience playing No [more] Pussyfooting for a full house at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival! It turned out to be a great evening and a very enthusiastic crowd, it felt almost like the music of Fripp and Eno finally returned home :) Some reactions on twitter:

Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival 2017

Next week I'll play my debut at the UK's most important festival for new music, presenting not one - but two projects!

I'll sart with my solo set No [more] Pussyfooting on monday 20/11 (my birthday!) during the HCMF shorts at Bates Mill. Festival director Graham Mckenzie chose my set as one of the highlights of this edition, read all about it here!

The next day Zwerm will land it's beautiful stage set-up for Our Ears Felt Like Canyons at Bates Mill in Huddersfield. After successful performances at Ruhrtriennale and Transit Festival, we're very excited to present this project with music by Christopher Trapani, Joanna Bailie and Alexander Schubert at the 40th edition of HCMF!

Live session at Radio Panik

On tuesday 17/10 I was invited at Nico Bogaert's Moacrealsoa program at the independent radio station Radio Panik in Brussels. In this two hour radio session we talked about music, played some  tracks and I also performed part of my No [more] Pussyfooting program live. It was a very nice experience and I was honoured to be part of this great program!

You can listen to the show here.

Some Notes on a Reconstruction of Fripp and Eno's "No Pussyfooting" and "Evening Star".

I contributed an article for the 2017 Meakusma Festival newspaper on my project "No [more] Pussyfooting".

The article gives a little bit of historical background on the Fripp and Eno collaboration, more specifically on the only live tour they ever did in 1975. In a second part I then wrote about my own arrangements of their music and how I started this project.

You can download the English or German version of the article by clicking on following links:

My entire set from Meakusma Festival was recorded by dublab radio as part of their "Sleepless Floor", you can listen to it here:
